The Bleed-Through Effect

Releasing tomorrow, July 30th, 2025!

The butterfly effect is based on the idea that one small choice can ripple out and change the whole trajectory of our lives.

Think on that for a moment. One. Small. Choice.

Do you ponder changing a choice you’ve made in life? Often, when discussing this with others, we all end up in the same time loop. “Well, I’d love to change X, but not if that means I don’t Y, because I love Z, and….” Our lives are truly a sum of our choices, so changing just one small thing is nearly impossible without it causing a domino—or should I say—butterfly effect.

Built out of a mosaic of both good and questionable choices, our lives are a beautiful array of all shades of emotions, outcomes, and colors.

But what if you didn’t have to change a choice to explore this theme? What if, as many scientists and physicists have proposed, there is a multiverse where we’re living multiple lives simultaneously, and living out the lives made possible by just a few different choices?

Imagine that.

If you’ve read the Periphery series, I’ve explored this concept in depth through the characters Charlotte, Jared, and Simon. The two-book series has so many hidden stakes, and morally gray choices abound. It’s so much more than a love story, it delves deep into the possibilities of self….can we be both a hero and a villain depending on which life we’re in? Can we love two very different people, and is that love shaped by events happening in our parallel lives…like a complex tapestry of choices, love, and motives, building a complex set of lives in which our identity endures even if our circumstances change?

There’s a parable attributed to Cherokee legend that describes a battle within oneself by likening it to two wolves inside of every one of us—one good, one evil—and the one that wins is the one we feed.

Does that mean that somewhere deep inside, given the right circumstances, we’re all capable of being a villain?

💫Just how far would you go to save the one you love?

Further, can the choices we’re making in other lives bleed into our current reality? What if dreams, deja vu, intuition, or the immediate chemistry (or disdain!) we feel toward people we meet for the first time are part of the bleed-through effect?

If any of these concepts are interesting to you, I hope you’ll check out the Periphery series! The final book in the two-book series, The Bleed-Through Effect, releases tomorrow. You can order from any online retailer worldwide, including Amazon: https://a.co/d/4sA3ge7

Releasing my stories into the wild brings about a lot of emotions. I’m excited. I’m nervous. I’m grateful.

If you’re reading this, thanks for being on this journey with me. I have no idea how I got here (really, I don’t, maybe a few of those choices along the way…) or where I’m going (do any of us, really?), but I’m so happy to have you join me as we endlessly seek to explore the magic in our universe.

If you like the Periphery series, I’d be so honored if you leave a review or recommend it to friends.

In every reality, I choose to explore the unknown with all you amazing readers, dreamers, and believers.
